Epidemiology and Factors Affecting Long-Term Conservation of Neuropathic Pain in Damage of Peripheral Nerves

Abstract

A review of the literature on neuropathic pain is presented, one of the most urgent problems in the modern world. One of the causes of neuropathic pain is a peripheral nerve injury. In the literature, the relationship between psychogenic pathological conditions and chronic pain syndrome is well described. Foreign researchers pay much attention to the psychological factors of the formation and preservation of pain. However, other factors remain insufficiently studied and are primarily highlighted in terms of participation in the development of peripheral neuropathies. Perhaps the same mechanisms underlie the long-term preservation of the pain syndrome in damage to the peripheral nerves, which requires further study.
